Urgent Neighbourhood Watch Update – Vehicle Crime on Dransfield Road last night
Dear Neighbour,
I don’t issue paper updates regularly, but I thought it important to an incident that occurred last night (evening of 03/06/2014 in to 04/06/2014). Our car was entered in to during the night. No damage, as it appears that when I went to lock it, the remote locking failed to initialise (I am changing the batteries in the keys). The criminals entered the vehicle, sat in the front seats, released the handbrake and dropped the car down on to our driveway (probably to drop out of site), they smoked multiple cigarettes and listened to the radio before leaving with the sat-nav and a power lead.
The above was reported to South Yorkshire and officers have attended today. If you have any CCTV, please can you review and also, if you saw or see anything suspicious, please inform the police as per below.
So please if you have an alarm use it, put the chain on, do not leave your keys on view, do not leave anything on view in your car whether it is parked on the street or on your drive. It did cross through my mind if you do get up during the night and happen to notice anything suspicious, call the police, 101 if low priority or 999 if high importance. Take a note of time, description of persons, and vehicle it could help the police find property and/or the people involved.
Please feel free to contact me at this email address: DransfieldNW@sky.com , or call / SMS text on 07817039147 if you’d like to discuss anything. Further details of all Neighbourhood Watch and Dransfield Road news can be found on our forum site. Here is the link: dransfieldnw.freeforums.net
Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions or suggestions.
Finally, please check your cars are secure when you enter your home and make sure no valuables are left in the car.
